- When does the season start?
We will have team tryouts on Saturday June 8th
Practice usually starts the first Monday after the 24th of July
- How often do we practice and when are the games?
Most coaches practice 5 days a week until the games start and then we can only practice 3 days a week
Our first games this season will be Saturday August 10th
All teams will have at least 8-9 games (7 or 8 regular season and 1 playoff game)
Depending on how your team performs in the playoffs you could have up to 11 games (8 regular season games, a playoff, semifinal and championship game)
Our last games of the season could potentially go through November 9th
- Does my athlete have to attend all practices and games?
Yes! Football is a sport that requires a high level of teamwork and it is imperative that your athlete attend all practices and games so they can understand the plays and be part of the team.
It can also be a risk to your athletes safety if they don't attend practice and understand how to play the game
- How much will my athlete play?
Every player is guaranteed a minimum of 10 plays per game
It is rare that most athletes don't get more than 10 plays if they are participating in all practices and making an effort to improve each week
In order to get your guaranteed 10 plays all athletes have to show up to each practice during the week and actively participate in the practice
- What is an X weight and a Z down?
X Men are players who are heavier bigger and heavier athletes for their grade
They are restricted to playing on the offensive line and are not allowed to advance the football
They are no weight restrictions on the defensive side of the ball and they are allowed to play any position
A Z down is a player who is under weight and wants to "play down" a grade so they play with athletes that align with their physical stature
